Last time I was at JavaOne, the conference was organized by a company called Sun Microsystems, at a unique location (Moscone Center) and most of my friends were wearing a blue t-shirt. I was very excited, it was my first JavaOne and I was giving a few talks about the JCP. I met dozens of people (Stephen Colebourne, Michael Nascimento Santos, Alex Buckley, Kay Glahn, Rod Johnson, Dalibor Topic…) at the conference center, but also at pubs. This time, Oracle is leading the conference, t-shirts will mostly be red, and with my Java EE 7 book published, I’ll be mostly speaking about… well, Java EE 7. Here are the talks I’ll be involved in :
- Tuesday 9/24 – 3pm – CON4510: Fifty Features of Java EE 7 in 50 Minutes (co-speaking with Arun Gupta)
- Tuesday 9/24 – 7:30pm – HOL 2147: Java EE 7 Hands-on Lab (co-speaking with Arun Gupta, David Delabassee, and Marian Muller)
- Wednesday 9/25 – 1pm – CON3496: Come and Play! with Java EE 7 (co-speaking with Arun Gupta)
- Wednesday 9/25 – 2:30pm – Java EE 8 Discussions
- Thursday 9/26 – 3:30pm – CON2406: Java EE 8 and Beyond (co-speaking Cameron Purdy, David Blevins, Brian Martin, Mark Little)
As you can see, it’s going to be a very busy and exciting week. Even if I’ll be running around, do not hesitate to come and talk to me… or even better, offer me a beer ;o)
Looking forward to be next week
